Rachael Neal is a professor of sociology, and will be teaching in the 2014-2015 Honor's Living Learning 社区. She is also an advisor for the Behavioral and Social Sciences Interdisciplinary Scholars Program.

Dr. Neal teaches a variety of sociology courses, including Self and Society, 社会统计数据, 童年与不平等, the 社会学 of Beauty and Bodies, 和种族, Class, 和性别. Students in her courses learn to analyze human behavior ranging from typical to the strange. During the 2014-2015 academic year, Dr. Neal enjoyed working with students on projects that extended beyond the classroom and into the city of Austin.

Dr. Neal's research is situated primarily in the scholarship of teaching and learning and examines student social statuses during college, and their diversity-related expectations of their courses.
